California Car Accidents
More than 5 million car wrecks occur in the United States per year. Approximately 3 million people sustain injuries in these accidents every year, while more than 40,000 are killed. Auto collisions are one of the top ten reasons that death and serious injuries occur in the United States. Motor vehicle accidents are also a leading cause of death for US citizens who reside outside the country or who are traveling abroad, according to information from the CDC.
More auto collisions happen in the state of California than in any other state in the United States. The Golden State sees more than 400,000 auto accidents per year that cause injuries to over 150,000 people. Usually, over 1,000 auto wrecks happen in California per day.
Sadly, the majority of these wrecks are the result of driver negligence. Driver distraction, intoxication, and fatigue are three types of driver negligence seen most often. Nine out of ten car wrecks happen due to driver negligence in the US.
When you or someone you love is hurt in an accident, it can be very overwhelming and stressful. You may be feeling anxious and depressed, not to mention frustrated. Auto collisions that happen due to the negligence of others are usually more severe than other crashes. Driving while distracted or fatigued is similar to drunk driving, the most hazardous and fatal form of driver negligence there is. Regardless of how a driver displays negligence, it is dangerous for all involved parties, especially unassuming drivers on the roadway.
