Yorba Linda, CA (March 31, 2022) – One person lost their life in a fiery collision on a freeway in Yorba Linda on Thursday, March 31. The incident involved a big rig and happened at approximately 12:50 a.m.
Sources say the wreck occurred in the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway at Coal Canyon Trail. At least one person lost their life at the scene, according to information from the California Highway Patrol.
At this time, it remains unclear whether anyone else was injured or lost their life. Footage from the crash scene showed emergency crews with the Orange County Fire Authority working to extinguish large flames.
The contributing factors of the collision currently remain unknown. Several westbound lanes were closed for several hours on Thursday which backed up traffic for miles. Traffic was backed up to the Orange-Riverside county line in Corona while crews worked at the scene.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

Over 2,900 people sustain injuries throughout California each year due to truck accidents. Commercial vehicles can weigh up to 80,000 pounds, approximately 20 or 30 times larger than the average passenger vehicle. The emotional, physical and financial strain put on the victims of commercial truck accidents can be overwhelming and frustrating. Victims are often faced with stacking medical bills, lost wages, and expensive vehicle repairs or even replacements. Injured accident victims should always reach out to truck accident lawyers in California when they believe that another driver caused their wreck.
