Walnut Creek, CA (April 21, 2022) – A fatal pedestrian accident took the life of one person on Saturday, April 16 in Walnut Creek. Curtis Gunn, 64, lost his life on Tice Creek Drive.
Walnut Creek Police state the wreck occurred at around 9:15 p.m. Emergency crews were seen at the scene shortly after the accident occurred to help those with injuries.
According to reports, Gunn and his wife, Laurelyn Gunn, were walking home from an event when they were hit by a vehicle driven by an intoxicated driver. Gunn, a Rossmoor resident, was pronounced deceased at the crash scene.
Meanwhile, his wife was taken to John Muir Medical Center to be treated for injuries she sustained in the crash. The severity of her injuries has not been reported. The driver was identified as Stephen Kiesle, 75. He was also treated for minor injuries. Kiesle was arrested in connection with the wreck.
Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
