California Car Crashes
Car crashes happen constantly in the state of California. A car crash is reported in California approximately once every three minutes. This is equivalent to 20 crashes per hour. These accidents can occur for many different reasons. At this time, the leading cause of traffic collisions in California is driving while distracted. When a driver is not paying attention to the road, he is putting everyone he passes at risk for serious injuries or death.
Approximately 3,000 people are killed every year in the United States due to distracted driving. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that in 2019, 3,142 people were killed due to distracted driving.
Those who sustain serious injuries in car accidents are usually required to stay in the hospital for weeks or longer. While there, they undergo extensive and exhausting medical procedures like invasive therapies and surgeries. This can be difficult to deal with. Luckily, depending on the circumstances and consequences of their accidents, injured accident victims have legal rights and options. Being injured by a negligent driver entitles an injured victim to the option to file a personal injury claim for financial compensation.
The law says that an innocent driver who was hurt because of the actions of a negligent driver can collect compensation to pay for medical bills, vehicle repairs, and other expenses and damages related to their collision.
