Long Beach, CA (April 20, 2022) – A woman was killed and two others were hurt after a multi-car accident in Long Beach. It happened on the 710 Freeway in the early morning hours of April 19, according to information from officials.
Initial reports reveal the five-car pile-up happened when a woman’s vehicle broke down on the freeway. Shortly after it broke down, it was rear-ended by four other vehicles. Emergency crews found the woman deceased outside her vehicle when they arrived at the scene.
A second woman was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. A man was found about a quarter-mile down the road in a heavily damaged SUV. He was rushed to a local hospital with significant injuries.
All northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway were closed while emergency crews worked to secure the scene. Police continue to investigate the details of the incident.
