Compton, CA (April 11, 2022) – Police identified Sandra Flowers, 64, as the victim who lost her life after being hit by a car on Saturday, April 9, in West Compton. Initial reports state that the fatal hit-and-run crash happened at approximately 11:40 p.m.
Sources say the crash happened at the intersection of Avalon Boulevard near Rosecrans Avenue. Flowers was reportedly crossing Avalon Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Flowers was declared deceased by paramedics at approximately 11:45 p.m. Police have not provided any description regarding the hit-and-run vehicle or the suspect.
Police continue to investigate the events that led to the incident.
