Compton, CA (June 15, 2022) – Police identified Michellie Gonzalez, 20, from Cudahy, and Jennyfer Flores, 18, from Long Beach, as the victims who lost their lives in a suspected street takeover on Sunday, June 12, in Compton.
Initial reports reveal that the fatal accident occurred at the intersection of North Wilmington Avenue and West Stockwell Street just before 12:00 midnight. Police responded to the scene and found two young women who had lost their lives.
Witness reports show that the two female victims were in a red sedan that was drifting through the intersection in a street takeover. Police have not confirmed the takeover at this time, however, they suspect it was taking place during the crash.
The sedan collided with an SUV that was traveling through the intersection from a different direction, the witness said. Due to the impact, one of the women was ejected from the vehicle. She lost her life at the crash scene, reports said.
Police continue to investigate the details of the incident. Nothing further has been reported at this time.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased victims.
