Los Angeles, CA (July 7, 2022) – A tragic accident took the life of a young girl in Los Angeles in the early morning hours of July 7. At approximately 3:00 a.m., a 7-year-old girl fell from the back of a moving SUV traveling on a freeway. She was then struck by several vehicles and killed.
The incident occurred on the 5 Freeway near Weldon Canyon Road in Newhall Pass. Officers with the California Highway Patrol reported that she fell out of the very back of a 1999 Lincoln Navigator that her mother was driving.
Witnesses stated she was either hanging out of the back window that was broken out or playing in the back portion before she fell out of the window. She was not strapped into a child seat, sources said.
The mother’s boyfriend was also in the SUV at the time of the crash. Both have been arrested for child endangerment. Police reported that the accident was one of the most tragic they’ve seen in their careers.
