Pico Rivera, CA (May 18, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fatal auto accident in Pico Rivera in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 14. The crash took place at around 1:50 a.m. on Whittier Boulevard.
According to information from reports, the incident occurred east of Gregg Avenue on Whittier Boulevard. Police said a black Mercedes headed east collided with a Honda headed west for unknown reasons.
The details surrounding the collision have not been reported at this time. The victims were identified as Nathan Lizarraga and Angelica Lopez. They were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger present in the Honda at the time of the crash, identified as a woman in her 60s, was seriously injured. Police arrested the 28-year-old Mercedes driver, identified as Carlos Hernandez on suspicion of murder and intoxicated driving.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the wreck.
