Los Angeles, CA (March 23, 2022) – A traffic accident involving a semi-truck happened on a freeway in Los Angeles on Wednesday, March 23. At approximately 8:00 a.m., the wreck was reported to officials in the area who were sent to the scene to help those involved.
The incident was reported on the Harbor Freeway just south of the Artesia Freeway. The California Highway Patrol received calls concerning a vehicle that was trapped underneath a big rig that was driving down the freeway.
The truck driver eventually stopped and allowed crews to free the occupant of the pickup truck that was stuck underneath the semi. The pickup’s driver was then transported to a local medical center to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident.
Both directions of the freeway were closed while crews worked at the crash scene. Shortly after 9:00 a.m., authorities had the wreckage cleared from the travel lanes of the freeway.
An active investigation into the details of the wreck remains ongoing.
We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.
California Truck Accidents
Some of the most devastating types of traffic accidents involve semi-trucks. It can be terrifying to be involved in an accident with a commercial truck due to the sheer size and weight of these vehicles. Semis are approximately 20 times heavier than your average passenger car. Oftentimes, those who are hurt in crashes with semi-trucks are more severely injured than those who are hurt in accidents involving smaller vehicles.
Traffic accidents happen hundreds of thousands of times per year in California. A percentage of these accidents involve commercial trucks. Truck drivers are often overworked and exhausted, endangering those they encounter on the road. Being hurt in a traffic accident involving a semi can be a devastating event in a person’s life. If you or a loved one of yours has been hurt in a truck accident, you are most likely painfully aware of the difficult consequences that usually come with the aftermath of your wreck, involving emotional, physical, and financial hardship.
